On 6th August 1997 Lady of Mann brought trippers from the Isle of Man to Fleetwood. Instead of the ship being alongside at Fleetwood all day a cruise was organised. This was meant to be a cruise north up to Ravenglass and around Morecambe Bay. The weather was excellent and even though the cruise had been mentioned in the Blackpool Evening Gazette the ship was only about a quarter full. We departed Fleetwood and Captain Vernon Kinley announced that we would be heading along the Fylde Coast, down to off the River Ribble and out to the gas rigs. For a local like myself this was a great sail, looking at your home town from a different angle. Below are pictures of the cruise. click on a photograph to see a larger version.
